Sanju's live-in story

In this constantly evolving world, we all struggle to adapt to the ongoing changes in life. It can be challenging to accept something and move on in a world that is so judgmental. This is the story of Sanjay, also known as Sanju, who came from a normal middle-class family with parents who had traditional beliefs.

Sanju had a great bond with his mother, and he shared everything with her, including his feelings. One day, Sanju's company transferred him to another major city, leaving him with no option but to accept the move. Sanju's m other could not bear the thought of being away from her son, but eventually, she adjusted to the situation and allowed him to go to the new city.

After settling into the new city, Sanju's mother would call him three times a day, and he would share all his office news with her. She even taught him some new cooking recipes, and during long weekends, he would return home and enjoy his mother's homemade meals.

This routine continued for about a year until Sanju began to avoid visiting home on weekends. He also stopped sharing his office news, and their conversations became casual. However, one day, Sanju surprised his parents with a visit, accompanied by his friend, Akanksha. At first, Sanju's parents felt awkward, but they eventually became close to Akanksha and even made a delicious meal for them all.

During the conversation, the topic of marriage came up, and Akanksha mentioned that she had always dreamt of marrying her boyfriend. Sanju blushed at this, and his mother noticed. She felt uncomfortable and quickly changed the subject by bringing out more tasty food.

These small incidents made Sanju's mother feel insecure about her relationship with her son. From that day onwards, she started making video calls to Sanju, which he found strange. After a few weeks, he began to avoid her video calls altogether.

Sanju was in a relationship with Akanksha, but his mother did not know about it. One day, their parents made a surprise visit to Sanju's flat and saw Akanksha coming out of his room. Sanju's mother felt devastated that her son had lied to her and hidden things from her. She started avoiding him, and Sanju was confused about how to make things right.

He went to the kitchen, where his mother was working, and told her that he and Akanksha were in a live-in relationship. His mother stopped her work and scolded him, even beating him. She asked him if their parents knew about this, and from behind, Akanksha said yes. She then went to her room, and Sanju followed her, finding her crying. He comforted her, and after the parents left the city, Akanksha visited Sanju's home with her family to talk to his parents and make it easy for Sanju.

Both families formed a good bond, and Akanksha followed Sanju's mother into the kitchen, explaining their relationship to her. Sanju's mother was hesitant at first but eventually made Akanksha's favourite dish, which was a symbolic yes from her side. They both teamed up from then on and started to tease Sanju. Sanju's mother even asked Akanksha to get married soon, and both Sanju and Akanksha agreed.

In the end, Sanju's mother adapted to the new changes and accepted them, without losing the beautiful bond they shared. She had only felt insecure about Sanju's avoiding, but she never hated their relationship. Being from an older generation, she just needed time to accept their live-in relationship. Changes may come and go, but the bond between us evolves and will never fall.

"A BIRD IN A CAGE" An English Story in Short learning English by story One day, when I was a young bird, my life completely changed. I do not know how long ago it was, but I still remember flying through the sky looking down at the green forest below.  All of a sudden, while I was looking for food, everything went black.  I crashed into something soft and was unable to move. I struggled to get loose, but I was not able to get free. I was put into a box. The walls were very hard, and I did not have much room to move. I hit the walls with my wings and yelled for help. After a while, since no one came to help me, I just gave up.  Inside the box, I found some water and food to eat. I do not know how long I was in the box.  Suddenly, the box opened and a bright light blinded me. I dropped to the ground. I felt the warmth of the sun on my back. It took a minute for my eyes to adjust to the light. When I was able to see, I looked around. I was FREE!  I stretched my wings and waved t

Each time I jog by th is lake, I see the same elderly woman sitting at the water’s edge with a small metal cage sitting beside her. This past Sunday my curiosity got the best of me, so I stopped jogging and walked over to her. As I got closer, I realized that the metal cage was in fact a small trap. There were three turtles, unharmed, slowly walking around the base of the trap. She had a fourth turtle in her lap that she was carefully scrubbing with a spongy brush. “Hello,” I said. “I see you here every Sunday morning. If you don’t mind my nosiness, I’d love to know what you’re doing with these turtles.” She smiled. “I’m cleaning off their shells,” she replied. “Anything on a turtle’s shell, like algae or scum, reduces the turtle’s ability to absorb heat and impedes its ability to swim.
